The Gansu Changma Wind Project is perfectly situated on the edge of the Gobi desert to take advantage of the extremely high winds in the area. The electricity generated by this project is delivered to the Northwest China Power Grid (NWPG), which has previously been largely connected to fossil fuel powered plants.
Why we support this project
This wind project is helping people through creation of new jobs in the green economy
It is also helping developing and middle-income countries become energy independent
Moreover, Gansu Changma wind project help to reduce emissions by over 425,000 tons of CO2e a year
Reduce emission by 430,000 tons per year.
Did you know that Gansu changma is the world's largest onshore wind farm and produces 5x the amount of energy than the next closest high performing farm?! We love that they love to kick *ass!
With the help of Club Leaf and our members, Gansu Changma has achieved some great results. And it’s only the beginning!
🚀 327 jobs created
🚀 623,000,000 kg CO2e offset to date
🚀 431,949 MWh clean electricity expected manually
