Wear your sweater and turn down the heat to save money and energy in 2023

Updated: Feb 13

Approximately 26% of all the energy used in our homes is for heating. If you can turn the thermostat down by 1°C and throw on those Christmas sweaters, you can go eco friendly this winter while cutting down your heating bills by up to 10%.

A lot of our energy still comes from fossil fuels. They are a major source of CO2. Your family probably won't notice if you turn down the thermostat by just 1°C and you will make a big difference to the amount of energy you use. You’re saving instead of wasting; note that when we waste energy, we're unnecessarily putting more CO2 into the atmosphere. And the more CO2 we put into the air the more difficult it is to meet the Paris Agreement to avoid 1,5°C global warming and for all of us to go carbon neutral.

If your family do notice that you fiddled with the thermostat, then lets ask everybody to thrown on some sweaters to go green this season.

Christmas Sweat. They make their Christmas sweaters in sustainable cotton which uses up to 90% less water in cultivation, while also not being exposed to chemicals or pesticides 🥳

Etsy is a perfect spot to find Christmas sweaters that are made by unique creators and family-run businesses. The designs are usually unique and can sometimes be personalised too. Keep in mind and favour those with eco friendly materials 😇
